Mission Statement:

Dog Dynamics, Inc. is committed to enhancing the human to dog relationship by helping owners understand dog behavior from puppy-hood through geriatric.  We take the dog point of view to find out what makes your dog tick.  Through this understanding we can then choose the training methods that are appropriate based on the dog’s behavior, temperament and your training goals.

Bonnie Brown-Cali

Bonnie has professionally trained dogs since 1990 and is the owner of Dog Dynamics. Bonnie was a master trainer for AppleGate School for Dogs Inc. and American Detector Dogs, and was a canine field handler for the University of Reno and Desert Research Institute. She volunteered for seven years as a trainer and member of the search and rescue teams for Contra Costa County Sheriff Department, California Rescue Dogs Association, and the California Office of Emergency services. She is an evaluator for the American Kennel Club and is newly certified as a field representative for Paws With a Cause, an organization that trains service dogs for the disabled. She has conducted national workshops on training and deploying service dogs, dog behavior and obedience, reliable retrieving training, and the ethical use of training equipment.

She has helped countless individuals with challenging dogs, and has published manuals and papers on puppy headstart programs, beginning through advanced obedience, behavioral training, training dogs for human remains detection, and how to develop and maintain an athletic dog. Bonnie teaches weekly community group obedience instruction and offers private instruction as well. To continue her education she attends annual conferences, behavioral workshops and training seminars with canine trainers, handlers and behaviorists from the United States and abroad. She and her family currently share their home in the East Bay Hills of Northern California with Hendrix the barn cat, and two black Labradors: Quill who is a certified disability service dog, and Jet, who totally embraces her name.

Jackie Post

Jackie began professionally training dogs 5 years ago and now teaches group classes for Dog Dynamics.  After teaching adults in education at the university level, Jackie turned her attention to her real passion – working with dogs. Initially, she worked with her own dogs in obedience, agility, therapy dog training, and tracking training. At the same time, she was raising Foster Puppies for Paws With A Cause®, a national non-profit organization which trains Assistance Dogs for people with disabilities. Deciding that she wanted to work with clients with disabilities who were receiving Assistance Dogs, she knew she needed a good foundation in professional dog training and a lot of experience handling dogs. She got this in a thorough dog-training internship with Bonnie Brown-Cali which included kennel management, training dogs in the board and train program, and private sessions with dog owners.  Jackie’s experience with raising foster puppies for PAWS made her an invaluable trainer for Dog Dynamic’s Puppy Headstart program.  Jackie was accepted into PAWS® Field Representative educational program and now works with PAWS clients in the Bay Area. Jackie currently has three working dogs: Libby, a Golden Retriever, and Roxie, a Yellow Lab who are both Demonstration Dogs for PAWS in California. Her most recent PAWS Foster Puppy, Ringo, is in training to become another Demonstration Dog. She also has a Border Collie mix named Willie. All of Jackie’s dogs and many of the PAWS Foster Puppies in the area attend Dog Dynamics classes to receive a good solid foundation for their future working careers.

Heather Petrocco

Heather has been a trainer since 2003. Her experience in working with students in our group classes has helped her understand a variety of training issues.  Living with two dogs of her own, each with their very own personality, and the recent addition of her first child have given Heather new opportunities to apply her training experience to real life situations.  Extended down stays and getting that very important "wait" at the door from her dogs has come in handy while raising a one year old daughter.  Her expertise and dedication to the dog/owner team is a great addition to our school..

Diane Laney

Diane began training with us after she adopted her Rottweiler/Labrador mix named Plum.  Diane, an ICU nurse in San Francisco, showed wonderful dedication toward helping Plum with some tricky behavioral challenges.  Because of her success with Plum and interest in learning more about dog behavior, she began assisting us in our group classes.  She started as a training apprentice and we are pleased to have her on our team.
